​Wendy Smithey, DVM 
Dr. Smithey graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 and began her career practicing in North Carolina. In 2001, she settled in the Hampton Roads area, where she has been caring for pets and their families ever since.
Dr. Smithey also pursued advanced training in canine rehabilitation, giving her additional skills to help pets recover from surgery or injury, manage chronic conditions, and maintain mobility as they age.
In 2015, she founded Homeside Mobile Veterinary Services to bring high-quality, compassionate care directly to her patients’ homes. With a passion for preventive medicine and a love for solving diagnostic challenges, Dr. Smithey is dedicated to providing thoughtful, thorough care. She believes every patient deserves to be treated with the same compassion and attention she would want for her own four-legged family members.

​Barbara Cardwell, LVT
Barbara joined our practice in 2016.  She loves providing the stress-free veterinary care that Homeside offers.  She has a special love for her black kitties.

​Our Beloved Truck, Bertha
We have a 26-foot custom made vehicle that offers a treatment area as well as a surgical suite.  She unfortunately does require extra parking accommodation so please help us when parking is tight at your location.  She has a personality all her own!
